Solaris Jumpstart::X86/X64=>Configure a jumpstart server for PXE clients (X86/X84)

Setting up a jumpstart environment for SPARC systems is a straightforward and simple procedure. Primarily because the the OpenBOOT prom supports the bootp protocol. A PC has a BIOS instead of a BootPROM and does not necessarily support the bootp protocol. Most modern BIOS support the PXE boot protocol instead.   Solaris hardware management::solaris 10 and newer=>Solaris should detect new hardware on each boot

Solaris is a 'vreemde eend in de bijt' when it comes to detecting new hardware on a system boot. All other unix' I know will automatically detect new hardware on a boot. Solaris is different in that it will not automatically detect new hardware. You have to tell Solaris that it should look for new hardware during next boot. This document will give you a recipe on how to configure Solaris in such a way that it will automatically detect new hardware during boot.
